The University of Iceland (UI) is the leading institution of research and higher education in Iceland; it is a progressive educational and scientific institution, renowned for research in the global scientific community. The University of Iceland is a state university, situated in the heart of Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. The UI offers opportunities for study and research in 400 programs, spanning most fields of science and scholarship. The UI is organized into five schools: Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Humanities, Education, Natural Sciences, and Engineering. About fourteen thousand students are enrolled and around thirteen hundred staff and faculty are in its employ.
The School of Education at the UI, educates teachers for preschools, primary schools, and upper secondary schools, sports and health sciences, social educators, and leisure professionals. All academic programs at the School of Education are strongly linked to the workplaces of those professions the school educates, such as schools and other societal institutions. The programs provide a wide range of professional options and serve as a good foundation for further studies. The School of Education is divided into four faculties: the faculty of Education and Diversity, the faculty of Education and Pedagogy, the faculty of Health Promotion, Sport and Leisure Studies and the faculty of Subject Teacher Education. The School of Education also hosts vibrant exchange student programs. At the School of Education diverse research is carried out in the field of education, pedagogy and training to create new knowledge for the benefit of society
STIMMULI FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
Stimmuli was born by three women working in the business and consulting sector for years while never lost their urge for projects with social impact. Along their carrer paths they met inspiring leaders, visionary entrepreneurs, scientists and people who overcame obstacles to create opportunities and drive positive change. This led them rethink how life and work should look like in a world with never-ending opportunities for all. In 2017, they established “Stimmuli for Social Change” as a mission-driven team of professionals who works towards stimulating change in education. Recognising that education is the first thing to change the world, Stimmuli seeks to transform education and foster 21st century skills for all by designing and delivering innovative and human centric projects and initiatives.

The company was established aiming to offer easy access to education opportunities to a wide number of people who are not able to attend a face-to-face program/courses, due to geographical, health, professional, family or other constraints. In this way, SkillsUp responds to the current and growing needs of our society for learning, through alternative education programs and promotes equal opportunity in education. The company’s activity is built around 4 main pillars:

Centre for Social Innovation (CSI) is a Research and Development organization which focuses on fostering social innovation that can bring about a positive change to local, national, regional and global contexts. CSI belief, is that the four pillars of Social Interaction, Education, Development and Economic Rationalization coupled with fundamentally sound and sustainable solutions as well as disruption to streamlined solutions to systemic social problems can lead to creative solutions that impact significant change to the social fabric of every society. CSI is working closely to address market, social, economic and cultural challenges with governments, local administrative agencies, non for profit agencies, commercial entities, and educational institutions. We identify and address systemic challenges through evidence based
research, state of the art investigation of global, national, regional and local solutions, developing solutions by taking into consideration the local ecosystem, cultural dynamics, meet the stakeholders needs and implementing those solutions as we keep constant vigilance to ensure continual feedback loop and adjustments. The feedback mechanisms and processes we employ allow us certainty in keeping in touch with our stakeholders and continually update our social solutions proposition. CSI team is composed of more than 30 open-minded, fully equipped researchers, educators, VET Trainers, social entrepreneurs, project managers, trainers and Information Technology Developers. CSI encompasses the capability and capacity to identify social needs, design and implement adjusted initiatives and project and provide for sustainable growth, based on its extensive expertise in successfully completing more than 100 funded projects. CSI is focus in the improvement of the Quality of Life for all and leverages Social Innovation to attain Social Justice, to solve Systemic Challenges and develop solutions that may provide opportunities for individuals and organizations
Centrul Judetean de Excelenta Galati
Centrul Judetean de Excelenta is a school for gifted students located in Galati, Romania. Our institution proposes an attractive educational offer which combines students and parents’ options with community’s professional needs. We educate our students according to the democratic principles of the open society.
